School Start Times & Attendance Policy

 

At BelovED Community Charter School, we are committed to fostering strong attendance habits that support academic success. Please review our start times and attendance guidelines below:

 

Elementary School (Grades K-5)

  • Doors Open for Breakfast: 7:30 AM
  • Instruction Begins: 7:45 AM
  • Late After: 7:50 AM

Middle School & High School (Grades 6-10)

  • Doors Open for Breakfast: 8:30 AM
  • Instruction Begins: 8:45 AM
  • Late After: 8:45 AM

 

Tardy Arrivals

 

Scholars are expected to arrive on time each day. Tardiness not only disrupts learning but also affects classroom instruction. If a scholar arrives late:

  • A parent/guardian must escort the scholar to the front door.
  • The scholar must be signed in at the security office.
  • A late pass is required to be admitted to class.

 

Excused Absences

 

The following absences will be considered excused:

  • Death in the immediate family
  • Required court appearances
  • Medically verified illness
  • Parental note required (school nurse may determine validity)
  • Doctor’s note required after 3 consecutive days
  • Observance of Veterans Day
  • Participation in "Take Our Children to Work Day"
  • Verified bus transportation issues (for bus riders)
 

Unexcused Absences

 

Absences for reasons not listed above are considered unexcused and will be recorded in the scholar’s permanent record. Examples include:

  • Family vacations
  • Non-educational activities

 

Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring missed assignments are completed. Please note: Teachers are not required to provide work in advance for unexcused absences.
